See the whole coast from a pirate ship.
The wooden galleons leave the harbour mid-morning and swing out under the castle walls, stopping to swim in the coves the road never reaches. Foam, music and lunch on board on the lively boats, and quieter cruises if that is not your crowd.
Which way into the Taurus?
Everyone behind Alanya ends up in the mountains one day. Three honest ways to do it, and whichever sounds like your group, every trip behind it is already reviewed and priced.

The jeep safari
5 - 10 hours · from $26 · 1,561 reviews
Pile into an open jeep and let a local driver take the mountain tracks: villages, pine forest, a Dim River lunch and usually a water fight on the way down. The easy pick if you want the scenery without the wheel, and the one that suits mixed-age groups.

The quad & buggy run
10 hours · from $14 · 1,545 reviews
Your own quad or buggy, nose to tail up the dusty tracks into the foothills, with a river stop to hose off the dirt at the end. Louder, messier and more hands-on. Check the age and licence rules before you book if the kids want their own machine.

On the river
The rafting day
5 - 10 hours · from $26 · 1,561 reviews
A longer drive out to the Köprülü canyon, where the water runs cold and quick and most trips add a zipline or a buggy leg to round out the day. The active choice, and the coolest way to spend a hot afternoon inland.

An hour inland, the heat switches off.
Up the Dimçay the gorge tightens, the pools turn cold and turquoise, and the Dim Cave holds the same temperature it has kept for a million years. This is the day you save for the hottest afternoon of the trip.
Clear water, easy firsts.
The sea off the headland is clear, warm and calm, which makes Alanya a soft place to try a first dive or drift a catamaran out to a snorkelling cove. Gentle stuff, and some of the best value on the coast.
Steam, marble and a proper scrub.
When the beach has finished with you, the hamam takes over: a hot marble slab, a foam wash and an oil massage that undoes the sunburn slouch. Most throw in hotel pickup, so you barely have to move.

The castle still runs the skyline.
The Seljuk walls have watched the harbour for eight hundred years, the red Kızıl Kule standing guard over the old shipyard below. Ride the cable car up from Cleopatra Beach, walk the ramparts, and drop into the Damlataş cave on the way down.
Alanya works in pockets.
Alanya comes in pockets, and each one is a day. The castle rock for the history. The harbour for the boats. Cleopatra Beach for the sand. The Dimçay and the Taurus for when the town gets too hot.
Know what you’re after?
Twelve kinds of Alanya day. Pick the one that sounds like yours and every option behind it is already reviewed and priced.
The coach leaves early. Go anyway.
Roman theatres, white travertine terraces, a green river with a bazaar on its bank, and the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia if you can spare a night. Every pickup is from your hotel, and the nap on the way back is included.
A first Alanya week, day by day.
The beach fills the gaps on its own. These are the three days worth actually booking, in the order that makes the week feel earned.
Day 1
Learn the lie of the land
Cable car up to the castle, the ramparts and the Kızıl Kule, then the Damlataş cave and an evening in the old harbour. One day and you know the whole town by sight.
Plan day one →
Day 2
Sail under the walls
A galleon out of the harbour, swim stops in the coves under the castle walls, lunch on deck. Pick the party boat or the calm one; both come home sunburnt and happy.
Plan day two →
Day 3
Climb out of the heat
Sapadere’s boardwalk over cold turquoise water, the Dim Cave, lunch by the river. Save it for the hottest day in the forecast and thank yourself at noon.
